Everyone gets the call. Everyone receives the invitation. There is is not a single one amongst us who has not received it. There are only two types of people. Those who respond and those who ignore.
At first it come gently, its is a whisper, a dream, a trick of the light. Gone unheeded it gets a little louder. And louder still. The more we insist on ignoring the call, the more aggressive the call becomes. Accidents, anxieties, sadness and all other matter of neuroses and illness make their presence heard and felt.
It is the call to look within. It is the call to connect with others. It is the call to solitude. It is the call the eschew all distraction. It is the call to the Divine. It is the call to the earth and her waters. It is the call to cultivate your unique gifts, to tend them with subtle awareness of the gardener.
Marie-Louise von Franz wrote “Whatever one has within oneself but does not live grows against one.” Ignoring the call turns its life-giving energy back on us in an aggression, that never lets us know a moments peace. The energy distorted and stifled become a a mold, which slowly takes over its host, unseen at first and eventually make the fruit inedible and unrecognizable. Rotten fruit we cannot consume, we cannot share, it does nourish us, we cannot save its seeds to sow abundance. We ignore the call at our own peril.
